Overall Rating: LOVED it! ♥️
Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance was published in November of 2017; though I read it as a book of the month selection in March of 2018. It’s a magical, heart-happy, read that appeals to book-lovers of any age. Weylyn’s journey will leave your heart just a little bit bigger.
Orphaned at a young age, taken in by a wolf pack, and having his first real human encounter at 11 years old, Weylyn doesn’t know who he is exactly; but he has Merlin, his pet pig/sidekick, and as long as they’re together that seems to be ok.
Though Weylyn will tell you Merlin is gifted, the people in his life will show you a different story. Stories of a series of strange events that seem to follow Weylyn wherever he goes – leaving the people he’s come to meet in awe, a little bit confused, but forever touched by his magic.
This book made my heart happy. Talking about this book, nearly four months after reading it, I still get the same feeling I did when I finished it. What a fantastic story about a magical little boy just trying to find his place in the world. I fell in love with Weylyn the same way everyone who shared a part of his life did.
I know my synopsis was short, but I don’t want to give away too much of his journey. It’s one that you’ll have to read for yourself to truly appreciate.
